Moris explores representation, social and subjective agency, urban environments, and marginalized cultures. Rooted in sustained field research, his practice draws on the visual languages, codes, and survival strategies of Mexico City’s peripheral communities. The street functions as both his studio and research site, informing works that examine vernacular aesthetics and everyday forms of resilience.

In Pobres matando pobres [Poor Killing Poor] (2026), Moris interweaves the revolutionary graphic language of José Guadalupe Posada — the renowned Mexican political printmaker from the turn of the 20th century — with cuttings from contemporary Mexican tabloid newspapers. The series is presented in a habitable ephemeral architectural structure and dialogues with a book-sculpture, Cenotaph, (2026) that brings together one year of headlines from the newspaper La Prensa. Together the presentation confronts the enduring realities of structural violence, poverty, and migration. Visitors move through a space that positions them simultaneously as witnesses and accomplices to an ongoing historical tragedy, exposing the mechanisms of power that perpetuate inequality, exclusion, and oblivion.

His work has also been featured in major institutional exhibitions, including the 30th Bienal de São Paulo (2012) and the 9th Havana Biennial (2006). Selected group exhibitions include Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC), Seville (2024), Casa del Lago, UNAM, Mexico City (2017), ARTIUM, Vitoria (2014), and Museo Universitario del Chopo, Mexico City (2013). His work is held in collections including MoMA, Pérez Art Museum Miami, Fundación Jumex, MOCA Los Angeles, CA2M, Artium, and S.M.A.K.

Founded in 2006 in Mexico City, Arróniz champions critical contemporary practices from Latin America and beyond through exhibitions, publications, and institutional collaborations. Founded in Madrid in 1977, NF/NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ fosters artistic research and critical dialogue, combining a long-standing exhibition programme with initiatives such as CAMPING, which opens the gallery to interdisciplinary projects, and INTERLUDIO, dedicated to experimental presentations by invited artists. Together, both galleries share a commitment to supporting ambitious contemporary practices, encouraging cross-cultural exchange, and developing meaningful relationships between artists, institutions, and audiences.
