Garage - sometimes you can see much more (2009-2011)

The large-scale video installation Garage - sometimes you can see much more (2009-2011) starts in the dark. The sense sharpen, then suddenly comes the rattling, mechanical movement of a rolling door. Like a diaphragm between two dimensions, the shutter opens onto a view of the horizon and the sea. With echoes of Edward Hopper’s Room by the Sea (1951), but with a rugged contemporaneity, the work is a portal to enchantment.

Giovanni Ozzola is a multidisciplinary artist working with photography, video as well as with engraving on slate and sculpture casting. Sensitive towards the phenomenon of light and its various physical characteristics, the artist’s main thematic interests lie in conceptualizing and representing infinitude and exploration — both geographical and introspective.

Selected institutional solo exhibitions include Fosun Foundation, Shanghai (2019); the Basilica de San Francisco de Asís, Havana (2018); District Six Museum, Cape Town (2016); and Centro Arti Visive Pescheria, Pesaro (2011). Selected group exhibitions include the Quadriennale di Roma (2025); Chengdu Biennale (2023); MAC-USP, São Paulo (2021); Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris (2018); Manifesta 12, Palermo (2018); Art Sonje Center, Seoul (2014); and Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (2003). Albedo – You See Me in the Twilight, presented by Beatrice Burati Anderson and Galleria Continua in Venice and conceived on the occasion of the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia (2026). His works are held in major public and private collections internationally, including Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris; M Woods Museum, Beijing; Museum Voorlinden, Wassenaar; Museum Franz Gertsch, Burgdorf; and Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Prato, among others.

Located within a former 1950s cinema-theater, GALLERIA CONTINUA San Gimignano has hosted numerous exhibitions over the years, offering artists the opportunity to create memorable site-specific installations and tailor-made exhibition projects for these distinctive and character rich spaces.

dialogue

dialogue is a contemporary art gallery founded in Lisbon in 2023 by curator, gallerist and architect Sonia Taborda. The gallery challenges conventional exhibition formats through a curatorial methodology that privileges dialogue as both process and outcome. By bringing together artists from different generations, geographies and disciplines, it creates unexpected encounters that open new readings of individual practices while fostering collective exchange. Through exhibitions, conversations and participatory public programmes, dialogue expands the exhibition beyond the display of artworks into a platform for critical discussion and collaboration.
Since February 2025, dialogue has operated from its permanent space in Marvila, renovated by its founder. The gallery represents emerging and established Portuguese and international artists, develops exhibitions, site-specific projects, commissions and publications, and participates in international art fairs. In 2026, it launched a summer exhibition cycle in Basel with the Freie Musikschule as part of the Art Basel VIP Programme, and opened a Taipei office led by Asia Director I-Chien Tang.
